Barbara deguzis

Barb has studied and practiced Shamanism for over 20 years and has taught these practices in various workshops and classes. She is also a Reiki Master and has been teaching others this healing energy work in private classes as well as groups. She completed the Eagle Condor Intensive with the 2017-2018 class and was honored to become one of the Redleaf Elders.

Barb also holds a Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Manchester, U.K. and created a Healthy Aging Program for people over 60. Following the completion of the Ph.D., she volunteered with an NGO in Minsk Belarus, teaching at a University there for a year. She is originally from Connecticut but has lived in the U.K., California and Texas before settling in N.C. She had a business for ten years in Texas, writing programs and training professionals for various companies and state agencies.

She is now happily retired, living in Asheville N.C., planning future workshops and retreats to teach others shamanic practices, Reiki, and Peruvian practices.
