River Guerguerian has been inspiring audiences with his ecstatic and versatile percussion for over 30 years. Whether collaborating with international artists, facilitating sound meditations, or creating his own dynamic explorations of rhythm, River’s devotion and attention to the vibrant life of the drum reverberate through the mind and soul of the listener.
Born in Canada to Armenian-Egyptian-Syrian parents, River’s studious journey began at an early age. In 1989, he received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Manhattan School of Music Conservatory and was granted the school’s award for Most Outstanding Percussionist.
In 1994, River decided to sell all of his possessions and step off of the grid. He resided in a wildlife sanctuary in the Himalayas. The adventure lasted for five years and led to his immersion into extensive nature-inspired research and experimentation into the physiological effects of sound upon brainwave states. He continued his investigation of trance-inducing instrumentation as he further explored the East, closely observing the distinctive techniques of several cultures.
River has performed internationally with such groups as the BBC Concert Orchestra, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Tan Dun, Tibetan Singing Bowl Ensemble, Lionel Hampton, Paul Winter, Chuck Berry, and Ziggy Marley/Gypsy Kings. He has performed in the prestigious concert halls of most major cities of the world, including Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House and Lincoln Center. He has recorded on over 200 albums and film soundtracks.

River is Music Director of the Odyssey Community School. He also conducts “rhythm and sound exploration” workshops throughout the country, and enjoys teaching privately. He is the Artistic Director of Asheville Rhythm, which produces the Asheville Percussion Festival, now in it’s sixth year. Visit him at

Seren Petrichor  is an artist, mentor, shamanic practitioner and homesteader. Kin has a spiritual background in the Mormon church and grew up all over Pachamama due to his family serving in the military. He has now settled into the ancient mountains of Appalachia and loves to practice healing arts whenever they are called for.
Seren has always had deep kinship with nature and loved exploring the land and sea. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Guam at fifteen. Kin holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma. This is where he discovered his passion for sacred plants and a yearning for deeper connection to spirit. From there he gained many spirit totem allies caring for animals at zoos and aquariums. He learned to encourage and foster happiness and Love at Walt Disney World. Then how to create security and shelter with a community of volunteers through Habitat for Humanity. He then found an apprenticeship in glassblowing and a conscious hippie circus tribe in Austin, TX which led him to stepping intentionally into the universal flow. This led him to a beautiful homestead in Bat Cave, NC and joining in partnership with local priestess and therapist Justina Prenatt. Together they frequent local festivals and conscious gatherings spreading healing arts, altar craft and intentional spirituality. He then found meditation, journey work and sacred cacao medicine with Bloom Post and his first shamanic initiation. This was followed by an introduction to sacred ceremony with Jeff Firewalker. He then joined the Eagle Condor shamanic intensive learning healing arts with Jeff, Ellen and the members of the Eagle Condor sacred hoop.
Since the Eagle Condor initiation he has stepped deeper onto his medicine path. His glassblowing has evolved from functional art into channeled Source collaboration of sacred tools (and intentional functional art). Kin also heard the call from the universe to step out of his isolated glass studio and start helping out there in the world. Quite synchronistically at the same time the universe opened a residential treatment center within walking distance. So he began working/playing there as a mentor helping teenage boys recover and heal from trauma and addiction. This has allowed his spiritual gifts to emerge and given kin a quite energetic and supportive container to practice within. He started teaching them basic meditations, earth altars, journey work, lucid dreaming and Hucha Sami cycling. As part of his training at the treatment center, he was certified in Reiki energy healing. He learned quickly one of his gifts is calling in Sami and releasing Hucha. The staff has since invited kin to create formal workshops. This led to the creation of the Mindfulness, Grounding and Reciprocity workshop he will be offering in the upcoming months.

Jon Rousseau holds a Masters of Social Work and has been facilitating groups for over twenty years in a wide variety of settings. Following his passion has led him into wilderness therapy with at-risk youth, residential treatment with troubled teens, naturalist and expedition programs for camps and schools, leading vision quests, story-telling, ancestral earth skills, drumming, ritual and rites of passage. He is a practitioner of ritual healing, divination and talismanic medicine. Assisting others in cultivating more intimate and purposeful relationships with their ancestors is at the core of his medicine work.

In the early and mid 1990’s Jon traveled to the Hopi and Northern Cheyenne reservations in Arizona and Montana, living with traditional-based families and was invited to share in their rich traditions and ceremonies. Those journeys marked the beginning of a personal quest for rediscovering the fundamental, but often forgotten value of indigenous cosmologies and traditions.

Eventually he crossed paths with Malidoma Some’, initiated elder and shaman of the Dagara tribe in Burkina Faso, West Africa and has been working, studying and apprenticing with him for the past decade. Jon’s appreciation for the healing power of ritual, both personal and communal, has deepened tremendously as he continues to work with the ancient traditions of ritual healing. Jon remains committed to assisting others on their path of personal healing and the reclamation of their original purpose in this life.

Jon is currently a board member of Journeymen Asheville, a non-profit mentoring organization for teenage boys that provides ongoing mentoring circles and rites of passage experiences for male youth ages 12-18. He has led ritual and rites of passage ceremonies for this organization and sees the return of such formal coming of age experiences as a fundamental element for creating genuine community and the remaking of conscious culture.

Doug Smith, BA, MLIS, Minister of Prayer– Seeking an alternative to traditional western spiritual practices throughout my life, I have experienced and explored many cultures and practices. I spent time in ashrams, practiced yoga and martial arts, studied sacred texts and philosophies and participated in many flavors of ceremonies and rituals. Jen Worthen has been a close friend and collaborator for a decade. She is one of the most gifted, dedicated and heart-centered practitioners of Paqokuna and Peruvian Curanderiasmo that we have had the honor to work with. Jen is unwavering in her dedication to helping people live more happy healthy lives. It is with great enthusiasm and delight that we welcome Jen as a Wisdom Carrier and Collaborator.
Jennifer Worthen, LPC, MT-BC, FAMI is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Board-Certified Music Therapist and a Fellow with the Association of Music and Imagery. She has also trained in the use of an assessment tool utilizing ancient archetypal symbols and mandalas. Furthermore, she credits her training in the modality of the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (which is how she obtained the FAMI credential) as being instrumental in setting on her path of personal and collective healing, as well as being the work that introduced her to the power of the non-ordinary state of consciousness.
Jen began her study of indigenous wisdom and folk healing in 2006 when she began her apprenticeship in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition with don Jason Blaesing and don Oscar Miro-Quesada Solevo. Since that time, she has been dedicated to healing and medicine work in various forms and has been lucky enough to find friends and mentors such as Jeff Firewalker and Ellen Kittredge to assist her in her continued learning of these old and sacred ways. Jen has a small private practice in which she weaves together her healing alter/mesa, counseling techniques and music or vibratory offerings in humble service to the empowerment of whomever shows up. She is grateful and happy to become an EC Collaborator.

Desiree Saltkill is an adept Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, and Shamanic Practitioner. She has been focused on averting an inherited chronic illness for more than a decade. Not only is she exceeding expectations in healing but she has also set a record as the first woman to pass the arduous work capacity test for the Search and Rescue School (SARSPEC I, II and III) in the Georgia State Defense Force. The medicine she shares is to encourage and embrace the human body’s natural healing abilities. She adamantly believes illness can be cured or managed if looked at and understood from an Integral perspective.
As a way to come into her power she has devoted herself to regular intuitive movement, nutrition and supplementation, weight-lifting, yoga, meditation, shadow work, prayer, and shamanic energy work. Her first mentor was author, Reverend Suzanne Winterton, who helped her to heal trauma, deprogram her mind, open her heart to Love, and began inter-dimensional communication techniques. Later she studied with author and Intuitive Counselor, Janet Sussman, who taught her Sun Point, an extraordinary healing technique using the hands, and several other grounding and empowering practices she still uses to this day. Her studies later transitioned into the shamanic healing arts through the The Eagle Condor Council with Jeff Firewalker and Ellen Kittredge who have played a huge role in her day-to-day ability to direct the course of her life and assist others to do the same. Other initiations include the Nusta Karpay and Blossoming through Suzannah Tebbe Davis and Ellen Kittredge and Grandfather Tobacco healing through Jeff Firewalker and Prajna Ginty.
She and her partner, Alex Villegas, run The Maryposa Healing Center in Atlanta, GA where they see individual clients and groups, host conscious dance events, meditation workshops, yoga classes, and a monthly community despacho (ceremonial offering bundle) to cultivate ayni (sacred reciprocity).

Alex Villegas. In a culture that values specialization and the endless pursuit of accolades, Alex has always been a bit hard to categorize. A generalist at heart, he has many interests and talents. His view of self-actualization is holistic and therefore his approach has always been multi-disciplinary. He trains his body, mind, and spirit with equal fervor and juggles multiple lines of development as opposed to focusing on the mastery of one.
His path as a shamanic practitioner started around the age of 17 after a very powerful religious experience awoke an undying hunger for spiritual understanding and for being of service to others. Fourteen years later, after having lived through the near-death experience of his partner, Desiree Saltkill, during which he had a transformative encounter with an angelic being, he started taking his healing path strategically and began studying with authors Suzanne Winterton and later Janet Sussman. As his practice shifted focus toward the shamanic arts, he apprenticed under Dave Metz, Ellen Kittredge, and Jeff Firewalker in the Andean traditions of Pachakuti Mesa and Eagle Condor Council. In recent years he began his walk using tobacco as a sacred healing plant under the tutelage of Jeff Firewalker and Prajna Ginty.
He has been a bodybuilder, martial artist, and athlete for over 25 years and physical training is an important element of his daily practice as it incorporates aspects of mental, emotional, and awareness disciplines. Currently, he is a Shamanic Practitioner, Personal Trainer, Self-Defense Instructor, and Nutrition Counselor. Previously, he served as a Search and Rescue Specialist in the Georgia State Defense Force and an Executive Protection Officer in a private security detail. Guiding others to have a healthier, optimally functional body is an important step toward helping them live in their power.
He holds a BFA in Communication Arts and has over 20 years of experience as a Creative Director, having led award-winning marketing campaigns for brands like American Airlines, Toyota, Bell Helicopter, Coca-Cola, and Nationwide Insurance. Today, he continues to use his passion for technology and innovation as a way to modernize ancient healing traditions into contemporary and culturally-relevant sacred dance and performance events hosted at The Maryposa Healing Center in Atlanta, GA.
